When Is Rehabilitation the Right Choice?
Short-term rehabilitation may be recommended after surgery, illness, injury, or hospitalization when additional therapy and nursing support are needed before returning home.
Rehabilitation can help with challenges such as walking, balance, strength, mobility, communication, swallowing, and everyday tasks. At Fairview, each therapy plan is built around the individual’s needs and goals, with the focus on helping them regain as much function and independence as possible.

Recovery looks different for everyone. Our physical, occupational, and speech therapists work together with nursing and medical professionals to create a personalized treatment plan based on your abilities, needs, and goals.

Fairview offers furnished private and semi-private rehabilitation rooms designed with comfort and accessibility in mind. Rooms include private bathrooms, flat-screen televisions, and space for visitors and personal belongings.

Preparing for a Safe Return Home
From the beginning of your stay, our team works toward one goal: helping you return home as safely and confidently as possible.
Therapy focuses not only on strength and mobility, but on the real-life skills you’ll need after discharge. Depending on your needs, this may include practicing stairs, transfers, walking with an assistive device, dressing, bathing, meal preparation, and other everyday activities.
Our team also works with patients and families to help plan for a safe transition home.
Skilled Nursing or Rehabilitation?
Skilled nursing and rehabilitation are both available at Fairview, but they serve different needs.
Skilled Nursing is generally appropriate for individuals who need ongoing 24-hour nursing care and support for complex or chronic health needs.
Rehabilitation is typically a shorter-term stay focused on recovery after surgery, illness, injury, or hospitalization, with the goal of helping patients regain strength, mobility, and independence.

Comfortable clothing, supportive shoes, personal toiletries, and any items recommended by your care team are helpful to bring.
Photographs or a few familiar belongings can also make your room feel more comfortable during your stay.

The admissions process begins with an application and review of your medical information and rehabilitation needs.
Our team will review medications, physician recommendations, dietary needs, therapy requirements, and other clinical information to determine whether Fairview can appropriately meet your needs. Once approved, we’ll help coordinate the remaining paperwork and admission details.
Yes. Patients may receive visitors 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with no appointment required.
Yes. Helping patients safely return home is a central goal of rehabilitation.
Therapy is tailored to the activities and skills each person will need after discharge, which may include walking, climbing stairs, getting in and out of bed, bathing, dressing, using assistive devices, and completing everyday tasks.
